Going Solo: Kerri 2.11

Davis had both Sha and I wrapped around his little finger. He was adorable, and generally a very good baby. I would spend hours just watching him sleep. Sha and I split the late night feedings and diaper changes. The doctors said we wouldn't know until his birthday if he had inherited his father's vampire genes or not. It was a 50/50 chance he could be a vampire. I hoped he'd be human, but it if he was a vamp, I'd learn all I could so that I could make sure he grew up properly.

Mom and Dad came to visit. They were instantly in love with Davis and I barely got to hold him while they were here. Mom was even talking about retiring so she could move closer. I  noticed while she and Dad were here, that they seemed to be 'extra' close. I'd never had any illusions about their relationship growing up, but I had to admit it was nice to see my parents together.

Shortly after they returned home Sha got a call from my mom while I was at Davis' checkup. She delivered the news to me when I got home. My father had died. I couldn't believe it, he was just here and now he was gone. I took the news hard, but I was glad Sha was there for me. She offered to fly back to Bridgeport with me, but I didn't want to take Davis. It was a big city, but I didn't want to run the risk of possibly running into Boyd. I knew that if he saw Davis he'd know he was the father. I didn't want to share my son with him.

I returned home after the reading of the will. Being his only child, Dad had left the majority of his estate to me. The rest went to Mom and some charities he donated to. I was anxious to get back to Moonlight Falls because I missed Davis and Sha. Mom said she'd handle settling up Dad's estate for me.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.15

Today was a bittersweet day, Kerri was growing up. Time was passing way too quickly. I started to get a little teary eyed at the idea, but Lenny knew just how to cheer me up.

Kerri didn't want a huge party just family and Boyd. Sadly Mom and Alan couldn't make it and Boyd had to work. Kerri was a little bummed, but he promised to stop by when he got off. Matt did show up, their relationship had improved greatly and she was excited to have her father there.

The party was fun, even with the small attendance and Kerri aged into the beautiful young woman I knew she would be. As promised, Boyd showed up that night after getting off work and they finally took their relationship to that next level. They had promised me they would wait until she was of age, and they didn't waste anytime. He even spent the night.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.12

Kerri was the first to wish me happy birthday. I wasn't as happy about getting older as she was. Being an adult meant wrinkles and wrinkles were bad for a woman's career. Men got better with age but women just aged. Getting older didn't stop me from throwing myself a party. I never had one and I was going to celebrate regardless.

Matt came and finally spent some time with our daughter. She was a great kid and he had missed out on a lot in her life.

Lenny of course was there to help me celebrate. He was dating Deidre Litter but that didn't stop him from spending time with me. The party was fun, Matt even talked to me about wanting to be more involved in Kerri's life.

I agreed because I didn't want to deny my child a chance to know her father. She shouldn't have to face the same fate I did. We even danced for a while before he left to partake in the keg. Things were definitely back on track with mom and Alan.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.10

Now that Kerri was older, I was putting more time into my career. I needed to get things back on track if I was ever going to become a big name actress. I had an upcoming role and spent time working on making sure I knew my lines. Sometimes I felt like I wasn't spending enough time with Kerri and I made up for that with material things she asked me for. She was a smart girl, and all of her requests were usually something educational, so even more reason to say yes.

She and Graham made good use of the chess table. I was a little concerned about her seriously injuring herself with that chemistry set she asked for.

Her favorite thing seemed to be watching the stars in the high powered telescope she wanted. She brought home good grades, always did her homework and never needed help from me. I was a proud mommy. But her independence left me free to do other things. I would see Devin around the studio, but he didn't talk to me much. Word around the place was that all is philandering ways caught up to him finally. He was reportedly the father to be of Cressida Wells' baby. He was trying to deny it of course, but she seems like the kind of woman to make him take responsibility. Lenny, however, was still a part of my life.

He would come over and spend the night, but not often. I didn't want to disturb Kerri too much. She seemed to like him well enough or she just didn't voice her complaints. Not sure which. I had a few celebrity appearances to do which helped get me back in the spot light. I ran into Lenny on my way to the Brightmore for one of those appearances.

He couldn't stay but I still had a good time by myself. On the way home I ran into Matt who had the nerve to question me about being out at a club with having a child at home.

He had a lot of nerve to talk to me about being responsible when his own daughter doesn't even know him. Men! He was right, but I wouldn't tell him that. I was working late and doing these appearances and Kerri was growing up without me around.

I went home that night and hugged my little girl tightly. She even let me read her to sleep, something I hadn't done in a while. I was starting to worry she didn't have many friends outside of Graham. She never had anyone over or asked to go over to anyone's house.

She spent a lot of time either at the library or at my mom's house when I was working. All of my hard work did finally pay off in the form of another promotion. I wouldn't have to work as many days and I hoped to spend that extra time with Kerri while she was still young.

She seemed very excited when I told her the good news after I picked her up from my mom's house. It was perfect timing for this change since Graham was now a teen and no longer spending as much time with Kerri. That night when I tucked her into bed, I felt good about the direction my life was taking.

***ok correction on Ansley's career. At level 6 she was only a TV actress and not Featured Actress. She just got promoted to Featured Actress which is now level 7. I have purchased for her the multitakser LTR and the fast learner LTR to help her along in her career.

Blooper shots. Let's hope Graham and Kerri weren't too tramuatized running through Ansley's room while she was 'entertaining' Lenny. LOL

Teen Graham-he has Alan's nose and body. That boy is SKINNY!

Going Solo: Gen 1.9

It seemed like just yesterday I was bringing Kerri home from the hospital, but today was another birthday for her. My baby was growing up into a little girl. I of course planned another party for her. She had to have the best, always! I invited Matt and he showed up, with his new woman of the moment Lala Angelista.

I was furious he would be so callous as to not only bring her, but to make out with her at his daughter's birthday. I told him that if he did that again I would go public with the paternity test results, he wasn't worried because he said I would find my butt out on the street if I did. I was still fuming, but had to grin and bear it.

They left shortly after Kerri blew out her candles.
Kerri instantly hit it off well with her uncle Graham. It was odd to have an uncle only a few months older than you, but at least she had a built in friend.

Lenny stayed after the party to help me clean up. He was a sweet guy and I was glad he didn't just abandon me like Devin had. News around the watercooler was that one of the new extras he was messing around with had gotten pregnant. He tried to not claim the baby, but Cressida Wells was quick to get a paternity test and prove he was the father. Work for me was still going well. I spent some time at the local children's hospital entertaining them. That event was leaked to the press and for once I got some good publicity. I was also awarded the Sim Choice Award for my latest role. Life was looking up for me. I had a beautiful little girl, a very nice house, and Lenny who was proving to be very reliable.

He would spend the night on occasion and Kerri made it known to me that she could hear our 'inappropriate behavior'. I was a tad embarrassed and bought her the chemistry table and chess table she had asked for. She was a smart girl and didn't struggle with her school work like I did. She also seemed to have inherited my mom's art skills. Life for mom wasn't going so well.

Graham was starting to spend more and more time at our house because he said that mom and Alan were fighting a lot. I never pegged Alan to have a wandering eye, but mom told me she caught him flirting with my friend Tiara at Kerri's party. I told her she and Graham were welcome to move in with us if she needed, but she declined. She and Alan were going to try couple's counseling. Time was flying by and before long, I was going to have a teen in my house.

***Ansley is still only a Featured Actress. The progress bar seems to be moving slower now that she hit the half way mark in her career. SP really had Matt kissing on that Lala chick at the party and Ansley's bed got lots of action as Matt tried to use it for woo-hoo with Lala. Her mom and Alan also tried to go off to woo-hoo and so did she and Lenny. 1 bed 3 couples...no one got lucky at that party LOL. Alan also was flirting with Tiara and SP gives me pop ups that he and Jenni keep getting into heated arguments around town. Should be fun to see how that plays out.

Another fun fact, Lenny is a cat hoarder. The game had him adopt 2 and those two had kittens. He is living with 6 cats in his studio apartment. I'm not sure how to get rid of them for him.***
