Classes were going well. My favorite was when we got to get out of the class and sketch nature. The fresh air was great, and not listening to boring lectures was a definite bonus. I found that studying at the comic book store was actually quieter than my dorm room. I had tried the library, but got interrupted too often with people wanting pictures. The 'geeks' at the comic book store could care less about my 'celebrity' status.

Going Solo: Gen. 2.2-Kerri
I was enjoying college life. I was still getting stares and people would take pictures, but I had gotten better at ignoring it. Although I was there to learn, I also wanted to experience all college had to offer, so that meant accepting a few of those party invites that came my way almost instantly. Since I was pursuing a fine arts degree, I spent some of my free time still painting, plus it helped to relax me as well.
My dorm sadly was far away from all of my classes (really bad planning on my part) so I was going to really be in shape from all the walking, well mostly running since I always failed to leave on time. I hadn't really made any friends because I was suspicious that they only hoped to get stuff from my mom, pictures and such. I'd already been approached by one girl named Tiffany.
When Shasha came up to me after class, I was expecting the same thing, but she wanted to compliment me on the assignment. We started talking about the professor, and the basic crap he had us painting to 'hone' our skills.
We started hanging out after that, helping each other with assignments and just having fun. We'd been hanging out for a few months when she shocked me one day. She was getting ready to head back to her house after a study session and she kissed me.

Going Solo: Gen 2.1-Kerri
Now that mom and Lenny were engaged, the 'spark' seemed to return to their relationship. Not that it ever really left, but, well let's just say it didn't matter that our house wasn't small. Too keep my mind off what they were doing, I texted Boyd often. He would come by after work and keep me 'company'. I liked being with Boyd.
He was a total opposite of me, he was more the loner bad-boy type and I was your straight laced bookworm. But we got along. He even talked me into going to clubs, I wasn't really of age, but with his encouragement, I used the fame of being Ansley Gruber's daughter to get in without ID checks.
We didn't, or I didn't drink, much but it was fun to dance and hang out. Boyd was a little bummed with me leaving for Uni soon, but we spent my last day together. He was worried I'd find some brainy guy that enjoyed the same things and forget about him.
I assured him that wouldn't be the case. I liked that he and I were different, it made life more interesting. I just wished his mom liked me.
The next morning I packed my bags and headed out to the shuttle. Mom wanted to drive me, but I didn't want to arrive in a limo. I wanted my experience to be about me, not who my mother was. It was the same reason I opted to stay in the dorms instead of renting a private house.
